Vale Jim Penman

A note was received from Rod Booth at Coory Vets regarding Jim Penman

A sad note to let you know that Jim Penman, a life member of both Cooroy Vets and Cooroy Golf Club, passed away last night. Jim hadn't been well for some time.

Jim spent 16 years as Cooroy Vets Captain and left an enduring legacy.  His foresight, dedication and energy ensured The Vets continue to go from strength to strength.

It would be nigh impossible to estimate the amount of time Jim spent on organisation of games, competitions and District Host Days and unselfishly devoting his time to fostering golf at Cooroy and in the District.  If it involved golf or just a friendly chat Jim was always there willing to help and offer some wise advice.

Jim had many long time friends in the Sunshine Coast District Veteran Golfers Association and throughout the wider Veteran Golfer community.

He will be sadly missed.
